Roy Orbison / Fred Squire.
I saw Fred Squire play last night at the Dakota Tavern in Toronto. Good show, as usual. Also as usual, I found myself thinking that Fred and Roy look a lot alike. So here’s a compare / contrast for y’all.
The final photo features two of my other favourites, Daniel Romano and east-coast heart-throb Julie Doiron.

A good track. A good video.
Obviously a lot of influence from Dzama here – the video seems aesthetically and thematically linked to his previous work.

I have an awful job. For days I’ve been picking, shoveling, jack-hammering, shoveling, picking rock.
I can’t get this song out of my head. Minus the racism, the indentured labour, the ball-and-chain, I might as well be working on the chain gang.
